Natasha Hall is an internationally exhibited artist who has completed residencies and exhibitions throughout Europe, has had her work auctioned by Sotheby ́ s, received excellent and extensive press coverage in European newspapers and was recently interviewed about her career on television. The concept of bringing nature into a gallery environment and interacting with an urban audience is the essence of her creative process. An explosion of new information about Landscape and the earths processes; from contemporary science, satellite information and emerging technologies, encourages the development of a Scientific dimension to Landscape. A trace memory of Landscape is expressed through prior research in maps and journal articles. Direct tracings are recorded through draping the canvas over the ground, wrapping the canvas around andbetween trees. Bringing nature into the studio in the form of branches and leaves further ... less

For many years my work has been inspired by a variety of industrial locations. I have gained access to draw in some amazing places that have taken me behind the closed doors of industry, where the woman in the street is not usually admitted. These have included a tube train
maintenance depot, sewage pumping stations, construction sites, the Bankside Power Station, the National Grid and an extensive period spent at the bell foundry in Whitechapel, London. What began as an interest in industrial spaces, gradually focused upon the people that work in them.
I mainly use the processes of etching, aquatint and woodcut and all of my prints are developed from the hundreds of drawings that I have made at the various sites.

Artist’s Statement
My art is a living experience that is designed to draw you into the essence of the beauty which nature has to offer. I want to provoke the desire for you to be in places you have never been or strike up recollections of places you have been to before. My work is designed to challenge your perceptions of the real world.
Although I have painted all my life, it was not until 2000 that I decided to pursue my art full time and develop my artistic skills.

The work remembers what has once been seen or felt or thought.
I am a painter. I grew up into a family of architects and studied architecture.
In my practice, drawings and architectural notations describe and predict things I want to build: abstract concepts to be materialised. I paint to create a space within which I can move between control, accident and discovery. In the process of assembling and making work, I continually remodel a relationship between the parts and the whole, fragments and a sense of vastness.
I work in series. I often feel, once a painting is achieved, that I am not entirely f... less

Etching
My work concerns our relationship with landscape and our place in nature, ecologically, spiritually and emotionally. Recent etchings have been primarily influenced by Samuel Palmer; they explore modern landscapes in an antique style and are sometimes populated with figures using modern technology such as the Man on a Laptop series. This chosen etching takes Palmer's reading figure from The Valley Thick with Corn, turns his book on its side so that it becomes a laptop, and in the distance a windfarm and a power station nod to the current environmental issues on climate change.
I graduated in Visual Art from Aberystwyth University, specialising in painting and photography. I now primarily draw and paint using inks which are the basis for my editioned etchings and aquatints. I work in the British romantic tradition, and am particularly influenced ... less

Giclee print on fine art paper
Jonathan Luke
The artwork Garden Ring XII formed part of a large solo exhibition of the artist’s work entitled Blue Silence in autumn 2013 at the Russian Academy of Arts (run in conjunction with the Moscow Museum of Modern Art). The print captures a very quiet moment on the normally manic central ring road, called the Garden Ring, in Moscow.
It combines the use of canvas, oil paint, projection and current day digital photography and is presented as a limited edition giclée print on fine art paper.
The effect has produced an image which could equally relate to the past (Sasha Burkhanova who curated the exhibition in Moscow wrote “the very air of Moscow, famous for having its certain smell, is employed by the artist as a vintage-style filter that corresponds to the pleasant nostalgic feeli... less
